Douglas County Court Docket Douglas County Court Docket

Search the Douglas County Court Docket

Douglasville's county index takes a case number, a party name, or a citation, and the kind of case decides the route. Any of the three works. Superior or State Court matters use the county index in Douglasville, with dates and copies confirmed by the clerk. Probate, Juvenile, Magistrate, municipal, and federal matters use separate offices in Douglas County, Georgia. Filings, settings, hearings, and case events appear in the public trail. The official clerk or court supplies the certified record, and a Douglas County court docket search finds the case path before that request.

The public gateway is more specific than one box. The combined page takes a name and a filed-date range. The civil page adds a party field and a CSE number field. It also adds court-type choices and a case-number field. The criminal page adds Alias and Citation fields and separates Superior Court from State Court. Those labels are your local map. Treat CSE as a portal label unless the Clerk spells out what it means.

Go to the official gateway at courts.dcga.us/WebSearch. Do not trust a search-engine hit as the county index. The public session and the attorney or official login are different layers. A login shell may show a user name, password, and CAPTCHA. It may add shopping-cart language for account or document functions. That does not make the public index an attorney-only page.

"System Wide Search" is local form language. Read it as a county search, not a sweep of every Georgia court. If the routing is unclear, use the form to spot a likely Douglas County case, then ask the correct clerk about any other court's records.

What a Court Docket Shows

A docket is a running account of what has been filed, set, called, or entered. The public Douglas County search exposes index fields. The full court file may hold pleadings, exhibits, orders, returns, and certified copies that take a separate request. A result points you to the next step. It does not prove an allegation, establish identity, or replace the record held by the Clerk of Superior and State Courts.

Local wording matters here. "Case #" is the main identifier. "Party Name" shows up on civil search, while "Name," "Alias," and "Citation" belong to criminal search. "Filed From" and "Filed To" narrow the time range. Calendar terms like arraignment, probation revocation, TPO, or calendar call describe an event or a setting. They do not, by themselves, state the final outcome.

The Douglas County Clerk of Superior Court page describes the records office and public-search route that sit behind the index.

The Clerk’s office is the local custodian for Superior and State Court records.
Case #The primary identifier used on the county civil and criminal search forms. Keep it with the court and judge shown in the result.
Party NameThe civil-form name field. Name indexing can affect results, so use the Clerk’s last-name-first format.
AliasA criminal-form search field for an alternate name. It is a search aid, not a finding about a person.
CitationA criminal-form field useful for a traffic or citation identifier when the issuing court is in the county system.
Filed From / Filed ToDate controls that narrow a search. A date range that is too tight can create a false no-result.
Setting or eventA scheduled activity such as arraignment, motion, calendar call, or trial week. It may not include a party or case number.
DispositionAn outcome entry that needs the docket or document context. A calendar status or plea line is not automatically a certified disposition.

Douglas County Court Docket Case Numbers

Douglas County's public forms show a Case # field. The county publishes no fixed format for it. So use the exact number printed on a notice or given by the clerk. Never replace a missing number with a guess. Without one, start with the proper name field and filed-date range. Then save the number the official search returns.

On a civil search, try Party Name. Then narrow by Domestic, Superior Civil, State Civil, Child Support, or Habeas Corpus. On a criminal search, try Name, Alias, or Citation. Then select Superior Court or State Court. The civil form's CSE # is a visible local label with no published expansion. The Clerk can explain any field that does not make sense.

Arraignment
A court setting where the charge and available plea or trial choices are addressed. The setting itself is not a final result.
Calendar call
A scheduled call used to organize cases for trial or later settings. It is a calendar event, not proof that trial occurred.
Disposition
The recorded outcome of a case or charge. Confirm the entry in the docket or a certified document.
Restricted or sealed
An access limit created by law, rule, or a case-specific order. It is not the same as a case being deleted.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Douglas County packs several court systems into one courthouse area, plus three separate municipal courts. Superior Court takes broad civil work and every felony criminal case. State Court handles county misdemeanors, traffic citations, and civil matters within its jurisdiction. Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, municipal, and federal courts each keep their own record path. A county search result is not a universal index.

The Douglas Judicial Circuit contains only Douglas County. That helps with routing, but it does not merge the court records. Ask first what kind of case is involved. Then ask which court issued the notice or filing.

Douglas County Court Docket Calendar PDFs

Douglas County gives each judge a calendar page. That shapes how the court docket reaches the public. Judge Deah B. Warren's January 2026 PDF lists dates, times, and event categories. They include Criminal Case Management Status/Pleas, Criminal Arraignment, Probation Revocations, TPOs, domestic and civil motions, specially set criminal motions, Drug Court, and Calendar Call. Judge Lauren Wallace posts monthly calendars. She flags Veteran's Court, Opioid Court, and the Daily Reporting Center. Judge James Kiger adds ready lists, civil jury calendars, and Cisco Webex directions.

These PDFs teach you the rhythm of the court. But they may not show a case number or party name. A calendar without your name is not proof your case has no setting. A revised PDF does not answer a case-specific question either. For that, the county public search and the clerk's calendar contacts are the confirmation path.

The Chief Judge Cynthia C. Adams page belongs to the same judge-page calendar network. It records a local judicial milestone. Treat these pages as a calendar directory, not a case register. Fresh county pages beat old snippets when you need current calendar links.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

A court date is a setting in a particular court. It comes before a particular judge, for a stated purpose. The county Courts landing page may list Superior or Judicial Court events. A judge's monthly PDF may show only a category, with no case number attached. For a municipal or State Court traffic date, the citation or notice controls. Confirm by pairing the case index with the right calendar. Then call the clerk.

For the full hearing workflow, see the Douglas County court calendar page. It walks through reading a setting. It also covers what to do when a PDF, a portal result, and a notice disagree.

  1. Search the county index by case number, or by name and filed-date range if the number is not known.
  2. Write down the court, judge, case type, and displayed setting before opening another calendar.
  3. Check the assigned judge’s current calendar page or the county Judicial Courts Calendar selector.
  4. Call the Records Room or the listed calendar clerk when the date is missing, changed, or tied to a restricted matter.
  5. For a city citation, follow the issuing city’s notice and clerk route. For a federal case, use PACER or the federal court instead.

Never read a calendar call, a status/pleas line, or a “no published events” message as a final case result. Those are schedule and publication clues, nothing more.

Douglas County Court Docket Office Desks

The Douglas County Courthouse sits at 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, Georgia 30134. It also houses several court offices with separate record duties. The Clerk of Superior and State Courts is the central route for Superior and State filings. Probate sits on the third floor, judicial side. Juvenile is on the first floor. Magistrate guidance generally puts the clerk on the second floor. The courtroom sits on the third. Visitors pass security screening, so call ahead when a floor or counter is unclear.

The Juvenile filing clerk keeps permanent files and uses a separate attorney e-filing contact. Juvenile records carry stronger confidentiality limits than ordinary adult trial-court records. A missing adult search result tells you nothing about a youth matter. The same goes for another specialty court.

The Juvenile Filing Clerk page is the official source for that separate filing and records path.

Public Access to Dockets

Georgia presumes court records are open. But “public” does not mean free, instant, complete, unredacted, or searchable by every field. Statute, rule, or a case-specific order can limit access. Juvenile matters, protected information, sealed filings, and some exhibits need a separate answer from the correct clerk or judge.

Key Georgia access rules:

O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 states Georgia’s public policy favoring open government and a presumption that public records are available unless an exception applies.

O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71 addresses inspection, copying, and the response framework, generally requiring a response within three business days when access, an explanation, or an estimate is due.

O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72 lists exemptions and protected categories, so a request should not promise an unrestricted copy of every filing or exhibit.

Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 treats Superior Court records as public unless law or procedure limits access and permits a judge to restrict a portion of a file by order.

An empty search does not prove a case is sealed. Check the court type, spelling, date range, and access route first. The Clerk can tell you whether a record is online, at the counter, held by another court, or limited by an order.

Douglas County Court Docket Access Rules

Open-records requests and court-record requests overlap. They are not the same process. The Douglas County Records Department uses JustFOIA for county administrative records, and it explains routing, search time, copying, redaction, and the rule that the county need not create a new report. Need a court docket, filing copy, certified copy, or case-specific court file? Go to the Clerk of Superior and State Courts. Send a court request to the general administrative queue. It may land with the wrong office.

Fees follow the county schedule. Photocopies run $0.10 each. There is no charge for the first quarter hour of search and retrieval, and actual costs apply for qualified labor, redaction, other media, certification, or mailing where applicable. The posted court fee sheet lists copy and certification categories separately. Ask the Records Room before assuming an index page includes every image, since no stable public price exists for online document credits.

The county overview supplies local history and administrative context. The Douglas County overview is the official source linked to this image.

Douglas County court docket county overview and records context
County context helps distinguish a public county request from a court-file request.

To request an existing county record, open JustFOIA and choose New Request. Check “Click here to submit an Open Records Request,” describe the record, submit it, and save the Request Number and Security Key. Remember what this route cannot do: it neither bypasses a judge’s restriction nor turns a court index into a certified file.

The Clerk and Docket Records

Annetta Danley Stembridge serves as Clerk of Superior and State Courts. Her office receives civil and criminal filings. It assigns case numbers and judges, collects and disburses fees and costs, and handles public access to the court docket. Civil cases can involve several parties. Criminal cases can involve multiple defendants and charges. When a criminal case closes, the Clerk sends closure paperwork to a state agency, which is one reason a county docket and a state-agency record may not line up.

For an older filing, a certified copy, or a result that explains too little, the Records Room is the practical fallback. Clerk staff can also sort out the difference between an uncertified printout, an electronic copy, a certified copy, and an exemplified copy. Fees change. Use the current county schedule and ask before paying.

State Court's Public Access Terminal handles civil e-filing, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is a filing station, not a gateway to every unrestricted docket image. Staff can walk you through the local filing process, but they will not pick a legal claim or give legal advice.

Douglas County Court Docket Timing Rules

Different events in Douglas County carry different timing rules. A State Court arraignment waiver must reach the Clerk. The rule is at least 24 hours before the scheduled hearing. Judge Fortner's page states the same deadline and names separate criminal and civil calendar clerks. Douglasville permits one reset under its Court Services rules. Austell allows one continuance per case. It requires an in-person signature no later than 24 hours before court. A Juvenile standing order sets a 24-hour written-request window for specified virtual dependency settings.

These deadlines do not swap. A city ticket's payment cutoff, a State Court waiver, and a Juvenile remote-attendance request belong to different courts. They also belong to different records. Let the notice, the judge's page, or the clerk control the question.

Court Dockets by City in Douglas County

Douglas County contains three incorporated municipalities: Douglasville, Villa Rica, and Austell. The 2020 Census table ranks them. Each one runs its own municipal docket. Payment and contact routes are separate too. A city traffic citation may never show up in the county State Court search. The issuing court is often a municipal court. The city pages stay focused on those local court rules and access paths.

Douglasville is the county seat and the largest municipality. Villa Rica has a separate court at the Holt-Bishop Justice Center. Austell uses the Threadmill Complex and publishes its own processing, continuance, payment, and courtroom rules. Keep in mind the population figures are 2020 Census counts, not current docket totals.

Douglasville Court Docket

34,650 in 2020 · City traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, probation, and Environmental Court routes.

Villa Rica Court Docket

16,970 in 2020 · Municipal traffic and misdemeanor court at the Holt-Bishop Justice Center.

Austell Court Docket

7,713 in 2020 · Municipal traffic, ordinance, and misdemeanor route at the Threadmill Complex.

The official Census incorporated-place table backs up the rank and count. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs list shows there are no fourth or fifth incorporated cities to add.

Douglas County Court Docket Traffic Counts

Aggregate reports add scale, but they are not a case search. The Georgia Department of Driver Services November 2025 monthly traffic-conviction report lists 779 citations reported by Douglas County State Court. Douglasville Municipal Court reported 38. Those numbers describe report rows for one month. They say nothing about pending cases, how many people are involved, what a single citation means, or what sits in the county docket today.

The gap matters. A docket is case-specific; a monthly report is a summary. For one citation, start with the issuing court and the notice. Then use the right public search or clerk. For a certified disposition, ask the court that keeps the record.
